4000 Weeks Holiday suffers from a polished, radio-ready production that is entirely devoted to Ian Dury's fascination with disco and lite-funk. Over these slick backing tracks, Dury runs through a familiar litany of working-class anthems, love songs, social commentaries and bad jokes, all delivered with noticeably less inspiration than before. Despite a couple of bright moments,
4000 Weeks Holiday represents Dury at a creative nadir.
