Bethnal was a British rock band formed in London in 1972 and featured George Csapo (vocals, keyboards, violin), Pete Dwoling (drums), Nick Michaels (guitar), and Everton Williams (bass). A straight-ahead rock ensemble (albeit with the unusual addition of violin), Bethnal was mistakenly redefined as a punk group in the mid-'70s. It was an error corrected by listening to their two 1978 albums, the second of which, Crash Landing, was made under the direction of the Who's Pete Townshend.
